CrowdStrike has expanded its collaboration with Amazon Web Services through its initiative known as Project QuiltWorks. The expansion is positioned as an effort to address risks associated with frontier AI, particularly the reduced time between the discovery of vulnerabilities and their potential exploitation.

The expanded collaboration brings together technology components, services, and financial risk mitigation approaches intended to help organisations manage vulnerabilities across their attack surfaces. Organisations using AWS cloud services are expected to receive additional insights into frontier AI-related vulnerabilities, with the aim of supporting the protection of cloud workloads and infrastructure.

Enterprise visibility and risk management

The integration of Project QuiltWorks with AWS is designed to improve visibility across enterprise environments. As AI systems accelerate the identification of potential vulnerabilities, organisations may need to more quickly determine where risks exist within production workloads. QuiltWorks intelligence is intended to support ongoing assessment of vulnerabilities and help prioritise remediation activities.

This approach is intended to extend visibility beyond individual production workloads to broader cloud infrastructure environments.

Risk framework and model integration

Project QuiltWorks incorporates frontier AI models from OpenAI and Anthropic as part of its risk assessment framework. The framework combines AI-assisted vulnerability analysis with prioritisation informed by adversarial threat modelling, and also involves contributions from systems integrators and the cyber insurance sector.

With AWS included in the collaboration, workloads running on AWS infrastructure are intended to receive ongoing updates from QuiltWorks intelligence to help identify and manage emerging vulnerabilities related to frontier AI systems.

Assessment offering

Organisations using AWS may have access to a Project QuiltWorks assessment, which is described as a review of their existing security posture. This assessment is intended to identify potential vulnerabilities and evaluate remediation capabilities.

Overall, the initiative focuses on supporting organisations in managing risks associated with frontier AI in large-scale cloud environments.
