Danfoss Power Solutions has introduced a new hose in its Aeroquip by Danfoss DataCryo range, the Aeroquip by Danfoss DataCryo DC394 hose, intended for use in data centre liquid cooling systems.

The development comes in the context of increasing cooling demands driven by AI workloads, cloud computing, and higher-density server infrastructure. These conditions can place additional requirements on liquid cooling systems, including the use of larger-diameter hoses to support higher flow rates.

In larger-diameter cooling lines, standard hoses can present installation and reliability challenges. Increased hose size typically results in higher bending force, which can make routing more difficult and may increase the likelihood of kinking.

The DC394 hose is designed with a channeled construction intended to reduce bending force and improve flexibility, while also increasing resistance to kinking. It is specified with a bend radius described as a 1:1 ratio, which is intended to provide greater routing flexibility in constrained or complex installations. These characteristics are aimed at simplifying installation and maintenance in data centre environments.

The channeled design is also intended to reduce the likelihood of flow restrictions that can occur if kinking happens, helping maintain consistent fluid flow. In addition, the hose has a low friction coefficient, which is associated with reduced pressure drop in liquid cooling circuits and can support system efficiency.

Material construction includes a peroxide-cured EPDM rubber inner tube and cover, selected for properties such as fluid compatibility, thermal resistance, and sealing performance. The hose is described as sulfur-free, which is associated with reduced corrosion risk. The cover is halogen-free and rated UL 94 V-0 for fire resistance, aligning with common safety requirements for data centre cooling infrastructure.

This product release is part of ongoing updates within the Aeroquip by Danfoss DataCryo hose range, including changes to naming, layline, and part numbering systems intended to standardise product identification within the portfolio.
