Durata has unveiled PowerCore, a powertrain solution designed to address supply chain constraints for data centre operators and critical infrastructure providers. The system is intended to simplify project delivery and support the deployment of new capacity.

As demand for AI, cloud computing, and digital infrastructure continues to increase, developers are under pressure to accelerate deployment programmes while managing extended lead times for critical power equipment.

Traditional approaches often require operators to coordinate with multiple suppliers for ring main units (RMUs), transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, and busbar infrastructure, increasing project complexity and extending delivery schedules.

PowerCore consolidates the power stack into a single modular system. It is designed, fabricated, and assembled in-house before being delivered to site, reducing the amount of on-site construction required.

Manufactured from Durata's North East England facility, PowerCore brings together engineering, fabrication, mechanical, and electrical components within a single delivery model. According to Durata, this approach can reduce deployment times by up to 60 per cent while improving quality control.

The vendor-agnostic system supports equipment from a range of OEM manufacturers across UPS, generator, switchgear, and battery technologies. Rather than being tied to a single supplier, Durata says it uses its industry relationships to recommend technologies and manufacturers based on the requirements of each application.

PowerCore is designed to support the increasing power density requirements of hyperscale and colocation data centres, including AI and high-performance computing environments. It can accommodate deployments ranging from 10kW to 150kW per rack, either as standalone installations or as part of a broader modular infrastructure strategy.

The system is available in stacked, linear, or side-by-side configurations, allowing operators to optimise available space and adapt deployments to site-specific requirements. These configuration options are intended to support future capacity expansion as demand grows.

PowerCore joins Durata's modular infrastructure portfolio alongside the AI:20 modular data centre platform. The portfolio supports bespoke deployments for enterprise, edge, colocation, and hyperscale environments across the UK, Europe, and North America.
