Capgemini and the UK’s Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) have announced a three-year agreement that helps Dstl deliver on its transformative digital strategy and vision. It will support digital innovation, and further enable the vital science and technology projects that support UK defence and national security.

Dstl is an executive agency of the Ministry of Defence (MOD) providing expertise and delivering cutting-edge science and technology for the benefit of the nation and its allies. Capgemini will provide Dstl with a step-change in end user experience, service delivery and responsiveness. Designed around the key pillars of agility, reliability, and security, the work will focus on growing Dstl’s science and technology capabilities and help develop solutions that can be effectively managed by industry and academia partners.

This agreement builds on Dstl’s partnership with Cambridge Consultants, Capgemini’s deep tech division, and supports its vision to deliver high impact science and technology.

Matt Howell, Head of Public Sector at Capgemini in the UK, said, “We are delighted that after a rigorous competitive process, Capgemini has been selected to support Dstl to harness the latest advances in science and technology to protect the defence and security of the UK.

Our proposed solution will help to drive greater interoperability with wider UK Defence and Security Organisations, leveraging our experience in this area across government and beyond, so that services can be re-used where possible, with Dstl benefitting from access to best practice solutions and economies of scale.”

David English, Chief Operating Officer at Dstl, said, “We are really excited to be collaborating with Capgemini as we enter a new era of IT service provision at Dstl. The new contract will provide better support for the many demands of our Science and Technology projects and deliver better ‘value for money’ outcomes. Our collaboration with Capgemini will help Dstl to deliver the high impact science and technology projects that secure the future needs of UK defence and national security.”
