Hitachi Vantara says that DestekBank has deployed its Virtual Storage Platform One Block (VSP One Block) to support the bank’s expansion into retail banking and strengthen digital service delivery. The new infrastructure provides the performance and scalability DestekBank needs to meet growing customer demand and fuel future growth, while designed to deliver 99.999% system uptime.

DestekBank, one of Turkey’s youngest and fastest-growing financial institutions, needed to scale its infrastructure to support thousands of new retail customers and a sharp rise in digital transactions. However, aging, siloed systems were increasing operational complexity and limiting performance. To support its retail banking expansion, DestekBank deployed Hitachi Vantara’s VSP One Block, combining high-speed Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) architecture and adaptive data reduction to deliver fast, efficient performance. With centralized management through Hitachi Ops Center, the bank has simplified daily operations and can now scale services more easily. The platform also offers a 100% data availability guarantee to maintain continuous access to critical services and includes a three-data-center setup that ensures continuous availability and streamlines disaster recovery.

“In a competitive market, dependable infrastructure is the cornerstone of our business,” said Kemal Ozcan, Deputy CEO and CTO at DestekBank. “With a fast, scalable storage platform from Hitachi Vantara, we are able to provide uninterrupted banking services, optimal performance, and seamless customer experiences. Our three-data-center setup makes it easy to meet recovery objectives and regularly test our disaster recovery capabilities. With better performance, simplified operations and headroom to grow, we’re well prepared for the next phase of our digital expansion.”

Since deploying VSP One Block, DestekBank has achieved a 35% increase in application performance, a 25% decrease in data center energy consumption, and a 30% reduction in storage management workload, freeing up IT resources to focus on more strategic priorities. With a 4:1 data reduction ratio, the bank has significantly optimized storage efficiency and lowered total cost of ownership by approximately 20%. DestekBank expects a full return on investment within 18 months of implementation.

VSP One Block’s scalability and high availability provide DestekBank with the agility to adapt as digital banking needs evolve. The infrastructure enables the bank to easily expand services, deliver seamless experiences and maintain consistent performance as customer demand grows.

“Banks like DestekBank are transforming quickly to meet the demands of an always-on, digital-first world,” said Asli Arisal, Turkey Country Manager, Hitachi Vantara. “With VSP One Block, we’re helping customers modernize operations, simplify complexity and scale with greater confidence. DestekBank’s success shows how the right infrastructure not only powers better performance today but also creates a foundation for sustainable growth and future innovation.”
