Bitdefender, the renowned cybersecurity leader, recently announced the completion of its acquisition of Mesh Security Limited (Mesh), an advanced email security solutions provider. This strategic move bolsters Bitdefender's GravityZone platform with native email protection, while also enriching its Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service offerings for business clientele and managed service providers (MSPs) worldwide. Despite the integration, Mesh will continue to independently offer its email security solutions.

Email remains the predominant attack vector in cybersecurity, often exploited for phishing, ransomware, and business email compromises (BEC). The latest global 2025 Bitdefender Cybersecurity Assessment Report reveals that 66% of surveyed security professionals noticed a surge in BEC threats in the past year, emphasizing the pressing demand for advanced email security measures.

Mesh employs a dual-layered email security strategy, combining perimeter-based protection via a secure email gateway (SEG) with mailbox-level detection through API-based deployment. This approach amplifies visibility across attack surfaces and contributes vital telemetry to Bitdefender’s global threat intelligence network. Moreover, its centralized, multi-tenant interface provides MSPs with scalable, efficient, and always-on protection management.

The integration of Mesh’s technology with GravityZone empowers Bitdefender to offer multi-layered, contextual email threat protection that evolves with sophisticated attack methodologies. It also fortifies support for over 41,000 channel and MSP partners globally, leveraging Bitdefender's solutions to ensure robust cybersecurity across diverse business entities.

Founded in 2020 with backing from investors like Elkstone and Enterprise Ireland, Mesh has swiftly established itself as a reputable email security provider, servicing hundreds of MSP partners and thousands of end-users globally. The company's reputation is built on its detection efficacy, MSP-centric architecture, and its seamless handling of email-based threats.
