NTT DATA UK&I has officially announced the appointment of Bhushan Patil as its new Head of Telecom, Media and Technology (TMT). This strategic move highlights the company's commitment to enhancing its TMT sector capabilities with Patil's extensive experience in the telecoms domain.

With over 30 years in the industry, Bhushan will lead the expansion of NTT DATA’s TMT division, focusing on strengthening strategic hires and increasing their influence in the market. This appointment is part of a broader initiative to engage directly with clients facing significant transformational challenges, whether modernising legacy systems, adopting AI, or transitioning to cloud-native networks.

Patil's professional journey commenced as a telecoms engineer at Siemens, before relocating to Europe in 1999. His pivotal role involved establishing and growing European practices for numerous companies. His noteworthy contributions include 16 years at another renowned multinational IT services firm, where he was instrumental in extending services into networks, operations support systems (OSS), and 5G for telecom providers and large enterprises.

Bhushan commented: “With operational experience of running the largest telco in a technologically-advanced nation like Japan, as well as a global footprint of 150+ data centres, NTT DATA is uniquely positioned to help operators and media houses through the next wave of AI-led transformation. As I join the organisation, I’m keen to bring sharper focus on our capabilities as a full-stack, full-service growth enabler in the TMT space, and to highlight our ability to deliver at scale, lead transformation, and partner strategically with the world’s most ambitious TMT players.”

Niccolo Spataro, CEO at NTT DATA UK&I, added: “We’re pleased to be welcoming Bhushan to the NTT DATA leadership team. His technical depth and sector knowledge, combined with his passion for delivery, make him the ideal person to lead our next phase of growth in TMT. Bhushan’s appointment reflects our investment in top-tier talent as we strengthen our position as a trusted, full-stack partner in the telecoms, media and technology space.”
