Commvault, a provider of cyber resilience and data protection solutions for hybrid cloud environments, has unveiled two new enhancements to its HyperScale portfolio: HyperScale Edge and HyperScale Flex. As remote data generation intensifies, these innovative solutions are designed to counteract the escalating threats targeting these critical sites.

With the 2024 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report revealing a significant rise in breaches due to exploited edge devices and VPNs, the urgency for effective data protection strategies is clearer than ever. The report highlights a stark 22% surge in such breaches, marking an eightfold increase over the previous year.

Commvault's new offerings are tailored to enhance resilience. HyperScale Edge and HyperScale Flex complement the established HyperScale X solution, offering customers newfound flexibility and performance. Both models are provided as software images adaptable to validated hardware, ensuring diverse enterprise needs are met.

HyperScale Edge caters to sites such as retail outlets, branch offices, and distribution centres, particularly where space and IT resources are limited. Utilising this model with hardware from Dell, HPE, and Lenovo, businesses can achieve robust, localised data protection.

In contrast, HyperScale Flex is engineered for high-demand, data-intensive sectors like technology, telecom, and healthcare. It supports certified storage solutions from Pure Storage, VAST Data, and soon, HPE, accommodating the intense performance and capacity demands of AI workloads.

The new solutions offer enterprises a dynamic approach to managing mission-critical data across multiple sites. Pranay Ahlawat, Chief Technology and AI Officer at Commvault, emphasises, “No two enterprises are the same. Modern retailers often manage mission-critical data across dozens of sites, while large organisations may want to leverage existing storage investments. But regardless of infrastructure, every enterprise is striving for one thing: cyber resilience. With the launch of HyperScale Edge and HyperScale Flex, we’re delivering the best of both worlds — flexibility and choice, combined with industry-leading cyber resilience.”

Both solutions reaffirm Commvault's commitment to providing cutting-edge, integrated appliances that protect and manage data effectively across various environments.
