Commvault, recognised broadly as a frontrunner in unified resilience at enterprise scale, has rolled out a series of significant enhancements to its Identity Resilience portfolio. These enhancements aim at bolstering security within Active Directory (AD) systems – often the backbone of many enterprise networks.

The latest updates facilitate organisations in pinpointing elusive threats within AD, systemically logging and auditing malignant changes, and swiftly reversing alterations back to a secure, original state.

Furthermore, the enterprise has unfolded improvements within its Active Directory forest recovery feature. This allows IT teams to comprehensively test recovery protocols during peaceful intervals, ensuring preparedness for potential disruptions.

Included under the umbrella of the new Commvault Cloud Unity platform, these identity resilience updates empower businesses to tackle security challenges from multiple fronts:

  • Detecting Vulnerabilities and Threats: Through integrated vulnerability assessment and anomaly detection, risks across various users, groups, and policies are identified in AD systems.
  • Logging and Auditing Changes: IT and security personnel gain insights into the nature and origin of changes, maintaining a detailed audit trail for all critical change events.
  • Real-Time Reversal of Changes: Suspicious modifications can be addressed instantly by referencing the change log, obviating the need for manual retrieval of recovery points.

Another notable breakthrough by Commvault is the synthesis of its AD forest recovery with the Cleanroom Recovery technology. This integration fosters an environment where customers can restore AD forests within a secure, isolated cleanroom – offering the chance to pre-emptively test recovery strategies without jeopardising active identity systems.
