Westcon-Comstor, a global technology provider and specialist distributor, has unveiled a unified leadership structure for its European business with the promotion of Rene Klein to the role of Executive Vice President for the region.

The move reflects the distributor’s commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for partners, vendors and its own people across Europe, while driving innovation by continuing to develop pioneering new capabilities.

Rene was previously head of Westcon Europe, a role in which he delivered significant growth fuelled by innovations including the launch of Westcon’s specialist Next-Generation Solutions (NGS) go-to-market proposition for cybersecurity-focused partners and high-growth and emerging security vendors.

His expanded remit will see Rene assume European leadership of the distributor’s Cisco-focused Comstor arm while maintaining leadership of Westcon Europe.

In taking on leadership of Westcon-Comstor’s entire European business, incorporating both Westcon and Comstor sales and go-to-market functions, Rene will leverage each arm’s specialised focus to drive growth for partners and vendors. He will also oversee the distributor’s revenue operations, services and global customer functions within Europe.

“It’s an honour to step into this new role as we begin the next chapter of our growth journey in Europe,” said Rene Klein, Executive Vice President, Europe at Westcon-Comstor. “My vision is to leverage the unparalleled expertise within both Westcon and Comstor to deliver consistent and world-class experiences, creating a future-ready and connected organisation with a shared culture and mindset rooted in a relentless focus on driving partner and vendor success.”

“Since joining Westcon in 2005, Rene has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication in growing our Westcon business within Europe,” said David Grant, CEO at Westcon-Comstor. “By bringing our European organisation together under his unified leadership, we are creating a simplified structure that provides consistency in partner and vendor experience while ensuring Westcon and Comstor maintain a distinct identity and offering.”
