Smartsheet has introduced an update enabling enterprise teams to connect Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, and Google Cloud Gemini Enterprise within its platform, alongside existing support for Anthropic’s Claude. The company has also added Smart Assist as an integrated AI companion. This allows teams to access live work intelligence within Smartsheet or through their preferred AI tools.
The MCP Server is built on operational data accumulated over two decades. Unlike standard AI connectors that primarily provide read access, it is designed to offer visibility into how work flows across organisations, enabling AI to generate actionable insights rather than general summaries. Smart Assist similarly uses live Smartsheet data to support decision-making across different work environments.
According to Smartsheet, adoption of its MCP and Claude integration has grown significantly since March, reaching over 22,000 unique users and around three million AI tasks executed. Weekly activity increased from under 1,000 users to more than 9,000, while tool call volume rose from 42,000 to over 700,000 per week.
The company also reports a roughly ninefold increase in platform adoption since launch. It states that about one-third of AI-driven actions directly affect live work, and that around 3,000 organisations adopted the platform in the past month, with close to 700 new organisations joining weekly.
Smartsheet is used for managing complex projects such as large-scale data centre construction and healthcare facility development. The latest integrations are intended to support faster workflow creation, experimentation with new processes, and use of natural language to access solutions.
