Part of the Quest On-Demand Migration portfolio, which has migrated over 100PBs of data, these innovations empower organizations to streamline complex Active Directory (AD) and device migrations, reducing downtime and IT workload while enhancing security.

Migrations are never simple. They are time-consuming for IT teams already managing heavy workloads. With decades of expertise, Quest develops solutions that streamline migration, reduce IT burden, and ensure highly secure outcomes. To address challenges like migration complexity, downtime, and data loss, Quest introduces three key capabilities:

• AI-Powered Migration Assistant – Traditionally, IT teams spent countless hours manually analyzing complex Active Directory migration logs and knowledge base articles, trying to pinpoint issues and solutions. This AI-driven assistant automates that process, surfacing the most critical insights and recommendations that reduce manual effort and enable migration experts to focus on strategic migration planning.

• User-Driven Device Migration – Migrations have always been disruptive, with IT teams forced to schedule device transitions without full visibility of the impact on business operations. A poorly timed migration could interfere with critical deadlines or active projects. With self-service scheduling, end users control the timing of their device migrations, minimizing disruption and freeing IT teams from manual orchestration.

• Application Migration Assessment – Before, organizations lacked a clear strategy for handling application migrations, often leading to redundant apps, increased costs, and security risks. This innovation provides a structured framework for assessing and strategic planning application migrations. It helps optimize IT resources, reduce costs, and shrink the attack surface for Active Directory via connected apps.

"At Quest, we understand the complexities organizations face during device and Active Directory migrations," said John Hernandez, President, and General Manager at Quest Software. "These new AI-driven and self-service solutions are designed to simplify the migration process, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency. We remain committed to delivering innovative tools that empower organizations to easily achieve zero-impact migrations."

Customers who have used Quest On-Demand Migration Self-Service highlight its ability to streamline the migration process while reducing IT workload:

"Quest On Demand Migration Self-Service makes the migration process easier to manage—whether it's enabling end users to opt into migrations, guiding required actions, or identifying user-to-PC relationships," said Erick Purkins, Technical Lead at CDW. "The dashboard provides insights that are hard to get from other tools, helping coordinate migrations where users have multiple devices. Initially, I wasn’t sure how it would fit into M&A migrations, but it has proven to offer greater flexibility, allowing users to choose when to migrate while giving administrators better visibility into the process." This real-world feedback reinforces how Quest’s solutions simplify migrations, reduce disruptions, and provide IT teams with greater control and visibility.

Beyond efficiency and automation, these innovations strengthen cybersecurity by helping organizations reduce their attack surface, eliminating outdated configurations and legacy vulnerabilities. Quest On-Demand Migration, built on the Quest Unified Identity Cloud Platform, seamlessly integrates with Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR), and ransomware recovery solutions to provide a comprehensive approach to security and modernization.
