CloudCasa by Catalogic has introduced CloudCasa Disaster Recovery (CloudCasa DR), a data protection solution designed for Kubernetes environments. Powered by HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000, the solution provides disaster recovery capabilities for Kubernetes applications and KubeVirt virtual machines, enabling organisations to protect data across HPE and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
The latest features in CloudCasa DR expand on its existing functionality by providing orchestrated disaster recovery with low data loss and reduced recovery times. Rather than relying solely on backup restoration, the solution uses HPE Alletra's native replication technology to minimise downtime and support recovery objectives.
CloudCasa DR combines Kubernetes-aware orchestration with array-native replication to automate processes such as failover and failback across clusters and sites. It supports bidirectional disaster recovery, namespace-level recovery, and multi-tenant isolation, while maintaining security and role-based access control (RBAC). The platform is designed to protect Kubernetes applications and KubeVirt virtual machines, including those running on Red Hat OpenShift and SUSE Virtualisation.
CloudCasa DR supports a range of environments, including HPE Kubernetes Service, Red Hat OpenShift, SUSE Rancher, and other Kubernetes platforms. The announcement further extends the collaboration between CloudCasa and HPE, offering customers an integrated approach to backup, recovery, and disaster recovery for Kubernetes workloads.
As part of the collaboration, customers can use HPE StoreOnce and HPE X10000 Object Storage as backup storage targets for data retention. The combined offering is intended to support the protection of Kubernetes applications across hybrid and multi-cluster environments and help organisations maintain business continuity.
