Cubbit, a geo-distributed cloud storage company, has announced a collaboration with Commvault, a provider of data protection and cyber resilience solutions. The partnership is intended to support the digital sovereignty and cyber resilience requirements of Italian and European organisations, while addressing operational needs in hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
Across Europe, organisations face continued data growth and a risk landscape that includes ransomware attacks and operational disruption. They are also subject to regulatory requirements under frameworks such as GDPR, DORA, NIS2, and the EU Cloud Sovereignty Framework. As a result, data storage and management remain important priorities for IT leaders.
The combined offering from Cubbit and Commvault integrates Commvault’s cyber resilience and data protection capabilities with Cubbit’s S3-compatible storage solutions. Organisations can choose between DS3 Cloud, Cubbit’s managed cloud object storage service available through partners, or DS3 Composer, which can be deployed on-premises. Both options use European infrastructure and provide organisations with control over data localisation, operational environments, and cryptographic key management.
The arrangement enables organisations to use the S3-compatible storage as a repository for backup data and long-term retention. In addition, Commvault’s tools can be used to support cyber threat management and the recovery of business services following incidents.
The collaboration expands the range of data management and storage options available to public and private sector organisations in Europe. It is designed to support cyber resilience, operational management, and data sovereignty requirements across complex IT environments.
