Horizon River central network operations team based in Atlanta, Georgia, started using Highlight’s advanced alert management and reporting capabilities as part of its Secure Uptime service in early November 2024. The Highlight platform was chosen primarily for its seamless API integration with Cisco Meraki equipment – a vital feature since Horizon River supports over 8000 Meraki devices across 49 US States for its customers.

The selection was also based on Highlight’s intelligent alerts that reflected actual network conditions rather than unnecessary notifications, alongside its delivery of extended historical insights, allowing engineers to track trends and optimise network performance. Prior to selecting Highlight, Horizon River evaluated other tools but found that they either required excessive manual setup, were not optimised for Meraki equipment, or were prohibitively expensive.

Chris Harrison, CEO of Horizon River says, “Highlight has been instrumental in transforming our network operations by enabling the team to proactively address issues and uphold our 99.9% uptime guarantee and service-level commitments.

“The Highlight platform provides a flexible, accurate and highly configurable alerting function allowing us to detect and respond with greater speed and accuracy to any problems. We particularly valued the way the platform is 100% cloud-based for Meraki, and was able to deliver value in a very short time as the speed of deployment was fast.

“We have many clients who rely on Secure Uptime within the restaurant, leisure and retail sectors, and the adoption of Highlight enables us to implement cutting-edge tools that enhance their fast-moving operations and their need to deliver robust services to their audiences.

“A real-world example of Highlight’s impact involved its detection of 150 cellular modems that had gone offline. By working with Highlight, we have now implemented its proactive alerting, enabling real-time issue identification and resolution rather than relying on weekly audits.

“Trust is the operative word – we trust the information that Highlight provides and in turn, our customers can trust us to deliver the services we have promised.”
