Rubrik expands cybersecurity services to enhance Amazon data protection

Rubrik announces new cybersecurity services expanding data protection for Amazon DynamoDB and Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL.

Rubrik, a leader in cybersecurity solutions, recently announced a significant enhancement to its data protection services. This development introduces a deeper layer of defense specifically for Amazon DynamoDB and Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL. With data volumes growing at an unprecedented pace, organizations are grappling with data security gaps, heightened cyber threat risks, and stringent compliance demands.

In response, Rubrik has unveiled new support for Amazon DynamoDB, along with a proprietary cyber resilience offering for relational databases starting with Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL. These steps fortify Rubrik's authority in cloud data protection, directly catering to customer needs for resilient and secure mission-critical database solutions. Customers benefit from an integrated platform that streamlines operations, minimizes cloud backup expenses, and ensures immutable protection by default.

Chief Product Officer Anneka Gupta emphasizes, "Extending our cloud database protection to Amazon DynamoDB and enhancing our capabilities for Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL signifies our ongoing innovation and strategic partnership with AWS. Together, we can help our customers become truly cyber resilient"

Rubrik's expanded data protection services reach AWS's flagship serverless NoSQL database service, Amazon DynamoDB, via a single, policy-driven console. This automation ranges from backup scheduling and immutability to intricate cross-account recovery.

  • Centralized visibility and control: Rubrik provides a unified dashboard for monitoring and discovering all DynamoDB instances across connected AWS accounts and regions for those opting against AWS native services.
  • Cost reduction: Offering storage-efficient, incremental-forever backups, Rubrik delivers options among a variety of Amazon S3 storage classes such as S3 Standard, S3 Glacier Instant Retrieval, and S3 Glacier Deep Archive.

Unique to relational databases, Rubrik launches this offering with initial support for Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL.

  • Immutable protection: It ensures database backups are unchangeable and undeletable, eliminating the need for additional infrastructure or multi-service architectures to enhance cyber resilience.
  • Simplified operations: Providing a centralized management view, Rubrik offers insights into RDS backup information across multiple AWS regions and accounts.
