Broadcom is taking definitive steps to assist small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in adopting private cloud solutions through a new initiative. Introducing VMware Migration Services as part of its Expert Advantage Partner (EAP) Program, Broadcom aims to simplify the deployment of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF) for smaller enterprises. This move is set to unlock the full potential of modern private cloud environments for SMBs.

The allure of private cloud solutions lies in their scalability, security, and flexibility, making them the preferred choice for many companies. However, SMBs often find themselves at a disadvantage due to limited IT expertise and resources. This results in a missed opportunity to fully leverage the advanced features and scalability that VCF offers.

Broadcom has recognised this gap and is aiming to aid SMBs in overcoming these challenges. The addition of VMware Migration Services to its EAP Program ensures SMBs have access to partner-designed and partner-delivered consultative services, with pre-packaged solutions offering expert guidance to ease their transition to private cloud environments.

Micheal Durkin, CTO Partner Organisation at Broadcom, commented on the role partners are playing, saying, "With an increase in demand for deployment and implementation services to migrate from vSphere to VVF and VCF, innovative programs, like TD Synnex North America Services, address that trend and ensure customers are maximising the full benefit of VCF and add-on offerings."

Through the partnership with TD SYNNEX, Broadcom designed and implemented the inaugural VMware Migration Services program. As part of their North America Services package, TD SYNNEX provides specific service packages that accelerate the adoption of VCF and VVF, offering SMBs a more straightforward approach to private cloud deployment.

Service professionals within the North America Services, whether delivering directly to end-users or resellers, ensure that SMBs receive personalised support at every stage of their cloud journey. The bundles include features for storage optimisation, disaster recovery, and scalability, enabling SMBs to address immediate needs while preparing for future growth.

The VMware Migration Services program is engineered to capitalise on distributors' expertise and the extensive network of Expert Advantage partners. This collaboration intends to deliver value to SMBs on their cloud journeys, with TD SYNNEX playing an essential role in offering initial VCF functionality and engaging EAP partners for complex implementations as customers expand their operations.

  • Assessment: Utilising tools like VMware Health Analyser and VMware Optimisation Assessment, SMBs can evaluate their current IT environment and readiness for private cloud adoption, providing insights into their infrastructure and opportunities for improvements.
  • Implementation: Assistance in upgrading vSphere environments to VVF or VCF is provided, including disaster recovery solutions such as VMware Live Site Recovery and vSAN integration for storage optimisation.
  • Expansion: As SMBs grow, advanced features and scalability options like vSAN integration for local storage, deduplication, and compression become available, ensuring gradual adoption of private cloud solutions at their own pace.

In conclusion, Broadcom, through collaboration with distributors such as TD SYNNEX and leveraging EAP partners' expertise, is taking significant strides in simplifying the cloud journey for SMBs. With innovative services and targeted solutions, Broadcom is committed to assisting SMBs in reaching their business goals and scaling their operations effectively.
