Westcon-Comstor, a renowned global technology provider and specialist distributor, has announced the expansion of its partnership with Proofpoint, a leader in cybersecurity solutions. This collaboration is set to grow further with a new AWS Marketplace agreement aimed at boosting the growth of channel partners.

Through this agreement, partners located in the UK and Europe can now procure Proofpoint's security solutions from Westcon-Comstor via private listings, facilitating direct sales to their clients through an efficient, automated process within the AWS Marketplace network. This innovation is poised to escalate the use of Proofpoint products across the region, prominently featuring its AI-driven Proofpoint Human-centric Security Platform and Proofpoint Premium Services.

As a fresh inclusion to Westcon-Comstor's AWS Marketplace programme, Proofpoint aligns with other celebrated vendors such as Check Point Software, Cisco, and CrowdStrike, among others. Introduced last year, the programme offers partners a smoother and simplified transaction pathway on AWS Marketplace, supported by specialist advisory services from an expert in-house team.

The distributor recently enhanced its offerings by introducing multi-currency capabilities and flexible payment options tailored for AWS Marketplace transactions, ensuring an improved experience for its partners. Parallel reports, like the recent Canalys analysis, anticipate a groundbreaking rise in spend through hyperscaler cloud marketplaces, reaching an estimated total of $163 billion by 2030, with channel partners projected to manage a notable 59% of this sum.

Consistent growth is noticeable, with quarterly AWS customer spend commitments soaring 25% year on year, hitting $195bn. Each transaction in the AWS Marketplace counts towards these spending commitments, encouraging channel partners to utilise marketplace selling to boost cloud investment value while enhancing security resilience.

Westcon-Comstor's AWS Marketplace programme is tailored to help partners seize this opportunity, offering both expedited deal closures and enticing returns on investment. With strong distribution agreements across crucial European markets, the program signifies yet another significant milestone in the Westcon-Comstor and Proofpoint alliance.

Previously, Westcon-Comstor became the initial Proofpoint Authorised Training Partner (ATP) in Europe, enabling them to provide expansive Proofpoint certified educational services and enablement solutions to channel partners and end-users across the continent.

“We are thrilled to welcome Proofpoint to our AWS Marketplace programme,” said Daniel Hurel, Senior Vice President, Westcon EMEA Go-To-Market at Westcon-Comstor. “As end-user buying behaviour evolves, hyperscaler marketplaces – led by AWS Marketplace – are becoming the preferred software procurement route. Our AWS Marketplace programme equips partners to meet this demand, offering a seamless way to transact and deliver value. Collaborating with leading security vendors like Proofpoint strengthens our commitment to helping the channel thrive in the cloud marketplace economy.”

"Expanding our partnership with Westcon-Comstor to offer Proofpoint’s solutions on AWS Marketplace across Europe marks an important milestone in how we serve our customers and partners," said Kent Breaux, Senior Vice President, EMEA at Proofpoint. "Together, we are making it easier than ever for organisations to access our comprehensive collaboration and data security packages through the channel they trust. Unlike fragmented alternatives, Proofpoint and Westcon-Comstor deliver complete security for the human layer – helping European organisations seamlessly procure and deploy the protection their people need most."
