Sage X3 enhancements aim to increase business agility with AI

Sage introduces AI-driven updates to help mid-sized businesses improve decision-making, reduce manual work, and increase operational visibility.

Sage, a provider of accounting, financial, HR, and payroll technology, has announced an update to its Sage X3 platform. The enhancements expand artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, helping businesses manage finance, sales, and supply chain operations more effectively and respond to changing conditions.

Organisations today face ongoing supply chain disruptions, evolving compliance requirements, and stretched resources, increasing the need for finance and sales teams to act quickly. Despite the availability of data, much of it is not fully translated into actionable insights within day-to-day systems.

A recent report shows that while 88% of organisations use AI in some capacity, only 23% have scaled these capabilities effectively in their operations. Sage’s updates integrate contextual AI into Sage X3 workflows, supporting more informed decision-making.

"Running complex operations today means decisions need to be made faster and with better information," said Rob Sinfield, SVP of ERP at Sage.

Sage X3 is designed for mid-sized, product-centric businesses managing operations across multiple sites, regions, and regulatory environments. The updates combine conversational AI, intelligent automation, and connected operational insights to improve visibility and reduce operational friction.

Sage Copilot for X3 allows teams to interact with business data through natural language queries. New agent-driven sales intelligence features monitor activity, enabling teams to identify potential risks and emerging opportunities.

"Mid-sized businesses are under pressure to respond faster across sales, finance and supply chain, and they need insight where decisions are actually made," noted Paolo Arcangelo, Services Director at Sage.

Key new features in Sage X3:

  • Sage Copilot for X3: Provides natural language queries and contextual insights, with sales intelligence alerting teams to risks.
  • AI-powered Accounts Payable Automation: Reduces manual invoice processing and enhances accuracy through AI-based document capture and vendor matching.
  • Sage Supply Chain Intelligence: Offers real-time visibility to support collaboration and early identification of risks.
  • Sage Business Reporting: Integrates real-time data into Excel for self-service analysis.
  • Platform Enhancements: AI-assisted updates simplify configuration and reduce the learning curve for users.
These updates aim to support more efficient and responsive operations. Some features are available to early adopters in specific regions, while most are available globally.
