Infinigate secures trust in digital media with OpenOrigins partnership

Infinigate UK & Ireland partners with OpenOrigins to combat deepfakes, enhancing trust in digital content and offering opportunities for their channel community.

Infinigate UK & Ireland, a value-added distributor specialising in cybersecurity, secure networks and secure cloud, has announced a partnership with OpenOrigins. OpenOrigins is a decentralised authentication platform designed to verify the authenticity of digital media and help address challenges associated with deepfakes and AI-generated content.

The partnership will initially focus on the UK & Ireland, enabling Infinigate’s channel community to respond to growing concerns around trust and authenticity in images and videos used within organisations.

Industry analysts expect deepfakes to move further into mainstream use by 2026, with potential risks shifting from reputational damage to financial fraud conducted by threat actors. As a result, organisations are increasing investment in deepfake detection technologies, with forecasts indicating a 40% increase in spending by 2026 across sectors and use cases.

For channel partners, OpenOrigins introduces use cases across several areas, including:

  • Corporate communications and brand protection
  • Fraud prevention and evidential integrity workflows
  • Media and content production
  • Identity and trust assurance scenarios where visual verification is required

With increasing reliance on artificial intelligence, verifying non-synthetic content and establishing provenance has become more important to reduce exposure to corporate fraud. OpenOrigins’ approach aims to address limitations associated with AI detection tools and provide an alternative method for verifying authenticity.

Through the partnership with Infinigate, OpenOrigins is positioned as part of a portfolio of tools focused on data integrity. The collaboration is intended to support partners with enablement, technical support and route-to-market services while creating additional opportunities around provenance-based media verification.
