Bitdefender has introduced GravityZone Extended Email Security, a platform that combines email and endpoint security to address threats from email-borne attacks such as phishing, business email compromise (BEC), ransomware, and impersonation.

The email threat landscape has seen an increase in more sophisticated attacks. Traditional email security systems, which primarily rely on pre-delivery filtering, can leave organisations exposed once malicious emails reach inboxes. Separate or siloed systems can also increase exposure by extending the time attackers remain undetected within an environment.

GravityZone Extended Email Security is designed to address these challenges through an integrated approach. It combines secure email gateway (SEG) filtering with post-delivery protection, aiming to block threats before they reach users and monitor them after delivery. The solution builds on technology developed through Bitdefender’s acquisition of Mesh Security.

The solution is integrated into the Bitdefender GravityZone platform, combining email and endpoint protection. It supports deployment across a range of IT environments and is designed for use by organisations and service providers.

Key features include:

  • Unified protection: Uses AI and threat intelligence to analyse emails in real time, with protection before and after delivery.
  • Streamlined management: Consolidates tools and automates monitoring and response processes to reduce manual workload for security teams.
  • Flexible deployment: Compatible with platforms such as Microsoft 365 and supports different environments through API-based and integrated deployment models.

As email-based threats continue to evolve, the platform is positioned as part of broader efforts to support organisational email security and operational continuity.
