Vesper Technologies has announced a strategic partnership with PEAK:AIO, the Manchester-based software-defined AI storage company, to develop and deliver integrated AI storage solutions designed for the demands of modern enterprise and hyperscale environments.

The partnership will see PEAK:AIO's blisteringly fast, standards-based storage software, validated to deliver 160 GB/s throughput per server, scaling linearly across nodes, integrated into Vespertec's open infrastructure ecosystem. The two companies are working together to package and validate the combined solution -- initially targeting deployment within leading server hardware -- with the goal of offering customers a fully tested, end-to-end AI storage platform that eliminates complexity and accelerates time to value.

The collaboration reflects a shared philosophy between the two organisations -- that AI infrastructure should be open, vendor-neutral, and built to perform -- without locking customers into proprietary stacks. PEAK:AIO's software is already proven in demanding environments including Los Alamos National Laboratory where it accelerated throughput from 70 GB/s to over 400 GB/s on existing hardware, and across NHS AI deployments in the UK. Vespertec brings deep expertise in solution integration, open hardware, and an established customer base across finance, healthcare, HPC, and AI sectors.

"We’re excited to be working with PEAK:AIO -- a company whose software-first, open approach to AI storage aligns completely with the Vespertec ideology," said Scott Constable, Alliance Director at Vespertec. "As AI workloads become increasingly data-hungry, our customers need storage infrastructure that is fast, scalable, and free from vendor lock-in. This partnership is a significant step towards giving them exactly that."

"AI storage has historically required customers to choose a hardware vendor before choosing a software solution," said Roger Cummings, CEO at PEAK:AIO. "This partnership breaks that model. Customers get proven, high-performance storage software on open infrastructure, deployable in hours, starting at a single server. Vespertec's expertise in solution integration means we can reach customers who need that level of performance without being told which hardware to buy from."

The partnership is in active development, with joint solution testing and customer engagement planned for the coming months. Further announcements regarding the combined hardware and software offering are expected later in 2026.
