Verne, provider of sustainable data center solutions for high intensity computing, has expanded its senior team with the appointment of Tony Ford as Sales Director. Based in London, Ford will be responsible for capitalising on the increasing demand for more sustainable data center services from enterprises and other high intensity compute users as they seek to minimise the impact of their operations on the environment. He will focus on helping organisations migrate their compute to the Nordics, where access to renewable energy sources helps reduce both the carbon footprint and cost of data center operations.

Ford brings a wealth of experience to Verne, having spent more than 20 years in enterprise sales positions at Colt. Since 2016, he has held the position Account Director for Colt Data Centre Services, working with large enterprise clients, while he also has extensive experience of working as part of the Colt Technology Services team. He started his career at the carrier, KPNQwest.

“It’s fantastic to welcome Tony to the team; his vast experience of providing tailored solutions to some of the world’s largest companies is the perfect fit for Verne and will be invaluable as an increasing number of organisations look for more sustainable locations to host their operations,” said Nick Dale, Chief Sales Officer, Verne.

“Data center demand has changed beyond belief over the last few years, with more and more organisations looking to the Nordics because of its access to cleaner, more predictably-priced energy supplies – especially when compared to the traditional metropolitan data center markets,” said Ford. “Verne has already built a phenomenally successful business in Iceland and Finland, and I’m looking forward to helping it capitalise on this growing interest and enabling clients to seamlessly migrate their operations to more optimised locations.”
