Intelliworx has promoted Joy Johnson to lead the company’s client services and operations functions across the UK and the US.

The move is in response to the company’s rapid growth in 2024 and the increasing focus mid-market businesses are placing on their cybersecurity postures. It also follows a number of other recent appointments and promotions to Intelliworx’s senior leadership.

In April, Intelliworx promoted Blake Jeffrey from General Manager of Security and IT to General Manager - Australia, the first time a cyber specialist would oversee the entire Australian business. Meanwhile, his colleague Joshua Paulus has also recently been promoted to Head of Security and Identity in Australia.

As Manager of Client Services & Operations, Johnson will report directly to Managing Director, Shane Maher. Her primary responsibilities will include overseeing client interactions and managing the operational aspects of the business. As part of her role, she leads a team across the UK and the US.

Having joined Intelliworx in 2021, Johnson was based in Australia as a cloud engineer, before moving to its London office to become Intelliworx’s UK Cybersecurity Lead.

Commenting on Johnson’s promotion, Maher said: “Joy is one of our rising stars, no question about it. We’ve been blown away by her tenacity and are blessed by her willingness to embrace the challenge of working across multiple international markets after her days in the Sydney office. This is the kind of culture we’re building at Intelliworx and we’re thrilled that Joy is a part of it.

“The UK is an important market for us. Cybersecurity spend continues to grow, with the UK government for example estimating that total annual cybersecurity sector revenue reached £11.9 billion ($A22.7 billion) last financial year, up 13% on the previous year. This highlights the opportunity for cybersecurity providers which can build and maintain long-lasting partnerships with their clients.”

Joy said she is excited by the potential of the market and the traction that Intelliworx’s approach of picking the best solution for clients has already been having.

She said: “Intelliworx is a decisive company and my career trajectory is a testament to that. I’m so thrilled to be leading such a critical offering of Intelliworx in such an important market that’s full of opportunity. I’m really looking forward to working closer with Shane and the team as we take the best solutions to existing and future customers.”
