Cogan brings over 20 years of European telecommunications and infrastructure experience to Digital Realty. Most recently, she served as Chief Executive Officer of euNetworks, a European bandwidth infrastructure company. Before that, Cogan served in executive roles at Colt Technology Services and Verizon, after beginning her career at BT. Cogan will be based in London and succeeds Michel van den Assem, who is retiring after more than 20 years with Digital Realty. He will remain with Digital Realty until the end of May to ensure a smooth transition.

"Paula is a seasoned telco and digital infrastructure leader with extensive expertise in sales, operations, and strategic transformation. She brings a strong track record of leading teams and engaging with customers. I am delighted to have her lead our growing EMEA region," said Digital Realty President & Chief Executive Officer, Andy Power. "I also want to thank Michel for his steady leadership of our EMEA team and his many contributions to Digital Realty over the years."

"I'm delighted to join Digital Realty's leadership team and lead the EMEA region during such a dynamic time in the data center industry," added Cogan. "With over 120 operating data centers across 26 metros in this multi-continental region, robust and expanding connectivity, and a client roster spanning the world's largest hyperscalers to smaller enterprises, Digital Realty is ideally positioned for continued growth in EMEA. I look forward to leading our team and partnering with our customers to deliver optimized connectivity and performance solutions, further strengthening Digital Realty's customer value proposition."
