WatchGuard Technologies, a provider of unified cybersecurity solutions for MSPs, has announced its strategic partnership with Spanish football club Girona FC. This collaboration underscores Girona FC's dedication to elevating its digital security posture with the backing of a cybersecurity industry giant.

Under this agreement, WatchGuard's Unified Security Platform® will be implemented across Girona FC's major facilities, including the Montilivi stadium, Vilablareix training centre, and the Les Hortes academy player residence. The objective is to safeguard the club's digital spaces by deploying a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture.

Delfí Geli, president of Girona FC, acknowledged the significance of this alliance, "This partnership with WatchGuard allows us to take a step forward in elevating our cybersecurity posture. Protecting the club's systems and data is key in an increasingly digital environment and doing so alongside industry leaders like WatchGuard gives us peace of mind and confidence to continue growing"

As part of the deployment, advanced cybersecurity measures will be instituted, including WatchGuard Network Security, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), ThreatSync+ NDR, and WatchGuard MDR. These elements will work cohesively to proactively detect and neutralise potential threats, reducing risks while maintaining the integrity of Girona FC’s digital operations. Girona FC’s current technology partner, Parlem Telecom, will facilitate the system integration and manage the deployment of these solutions.

Marc Jordi, IT Manager at Girona FC, highlighted that the integration of WatchGuard's solutions represents a pivotal moment in the club's digital transformation journey. Emphasising the need for robust protective mechanisms in today's interconnected world, he affirmed Girona FC's commitment to ensuring operational continuity and safeguarding their digital assets.

Michelle Welch, CMO and SVP of Business Strategy at WatchGuard, expressed pride in aligning with Girona FC. She remarked on the shared goals of growth and excellence, stating that the partnership aims to protect FC Girona’s digital environment whilst supporting the team's mission on the field.

Through this multi-year engagement, Girona FC will benefit from the meticulous security measures offered by WatchGuard's Unified Security Platform.
