MSP Channel Insights roadshow: Manchester highlights a thriving MSP community

The MSP Channel Insights Roadshow returned to Manchester, uniting leaders, experts, and partners for a day of insight, strategy, and collaboration.

The MSP Channel Insights Roadshow returned to Manchester at the Hyatt Regency, bringing together MSP leaders, cybersecurity experts, and channel partners for a day that sparked insight and collaboration. Manchester’s growing reputation as a digital and tech hub made it the perfect setting for the event, with attendees leaving inspired by the insights and practical guidance shared throughout a packed agenda.

The day opened with a Fireside Chat, Scaling Smart – A Candid Conversation with a High-Growth MSP, where Alex Heslip of Novem shared the journey of growing a business in a fast-moving, competitive market. Alex spoke directly about navigating growth milestones, overcoming operational challenges, and adapting strategies to meet the changing needs of clients. The conversation was refreshingly practical, filled with real-world examples and lessons learned that demonstrated how resilience and thoughtful strategy can support sustainable growth.

The first panel, Cybersecurity & Resilience – Navigating Threats in an AI-Enhanced World, brought together thought leaders to unpack the challenges of a volatile cyber landscape and share insights on how MSPs can stay resilient and proactive amid rapidly evolving threats. Attendees heard how AI is reshaping both defensive and offensive approaches, while exploring ways MSPs can monetise security services, maintain operational resilience, and stay compliant amid increasingly sophisticated threats.

In the Smarter Sales & Marketing – Winning in a Crowded MSP Landscape panel, attendees gained practical strategies for differentiating their MSPs in a competitive market. The discussion emphasised data, AI, and vertical specialisation as levers for driving profitable growth and attracting high-value clients. This flowed into the Strategic Insight Roundtable Sessions, where attendees rotated through small, interactive discussions to exchange ideas and learn from peers.

The day also featured a Compliance & Risk breakout hosted by The TrustBridge, which highlighted the fine line between operational responsibility and client risk ownership. Speakers stressed that while MSPs manage systems, ultimate responsibility rests with clients, and clarity in contracts is essential. Speakers explored practical ways to strengthen compliance, from readiness assessments to supply chain engagement, and left with actionable insights on governance, documentation, and scalable risk-aware services.

The third panel discussion, People, Culture, Recruitment & DEI – The New Competitive Edge for MSPs, reinforced the growing recognition that talent retention, company culture, and inclusion are strategic business imperatives, not just HR concerns. Attendees learned how to create agile, diverse workplaces where employees feel valued and empowered, recognising that retention goes beyond pay to include recognition, career development, and a supportive culture.

The final panel, M&A, Investment & Growth Strategy – Building a Business That Scales or Sells, rounded out the day with expert insights on scaling and preparing for acquisition. It brought MSP acquisition challenges to life, showing how culture and people can make or break a deal. Through real-world examples, attendees saw how careful integration, clear succession planning, and preserving continuity after a sale can protect teams and create lasting value. Sales-focused sessions provided practical takeaways, covering structured recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and commission design to build teams capable of sustainable performance.

Overall, the MSP Channel Insights Manchester Roadshow left a strong impression, with attendees actively contributing to discussions that highlighted the energy and vibrancy of the MSP community. The atmosphere reflected the dedication and expertise of all involved, from speakers and breakout hosts to sponsors who brought fresh perspectives. A sincere thank you to the sponsors, delegates, and attendees who made the day so engaging and inspiring. The event reinforced why being part of this community is so valuable and left attendees looking forward to the next opportunity to connect, learn, and be inspired.
